Sounding more 'analog'

Digital Technology has revolutionised the way we make, record and mix music today.
It has virtually eliminated the ‘signal to noise ratio’ issue found when recording to tape.
However, tape and analog equipment does something to audio during the recording process-it imparts character in the form of compression and saturation to the recorded material.
I use a lot of plugins that emulate the ‘analog’ hardware such as compressors, channel strips and tape saturators to put some of that analog sound back into the digital audio output.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much do you charge for your work?
Fees are negotiated depending on your project requirements. If you send me a rough mix of your track, together with information about how many tracks you actually recorded then that will go a long way to helping me give you an accurate and fair quote for my work.
What formats can you produce?
I can mix down to 24bit WAV file (or 16-bit for CD) and/or MP3. Files are optimized for streaming services
How can I send you my audio files?
The best way to send me your files is by zipping them up into a ZIP file and then sending the ZIP file to admin@digitalwaters.co.uk using a file transfer service like WeTransfer
Should I send you the processed or unprocessed files?
I would prefer it if you sent me the unprocessed files unless there is a specific effect that you would like on an instrument like a guitar for example. ( You could also try printing the effect to a separate WAV file )
How can I review your work?
Once your mix is complete I will send you an excerpt of the mix in MP3 format for you to listen to. If you are happy with the mix I will then invoice you and on receipt of payment will send you the files in the format of your choice.
Am I allowed mix revisions?
Yes, you are allowed up to 3 mix revisions. Any further revisions will be charged at an hourly rate of £30 per hour.
